A torrent failed or seems stuck

No peers, too large for your limit, or removed after an abuse report: what each means and what to do.

Stuck on Finding peers

Finding peers means our servers are asking peers for the torrent's file list. It usually takes a few seconds; for a torrent nobody shares, it can take much longer. There's nothing to do on your side: it either starts, or fails after 6 hours. Without a pass, it fails after 10 minutes instead, so you know quickly.

Downloading, but at zero speed

The speed of a torrent that isn't cached depends on its peers. At zero, it's waiting for them. It only fails after 6 hours without any progress (30 minutes without a pass).

Failed: no peers

A torrent that makes no progress that long is marked Failed and stopped. Usually, nobody is sharing it at the moment. Peers can come back: press Retry later and our servers start it again. Without a pass, a torrent that fails doesn't count against your free torrent: send another one right away.

Too large

A torrent over your size limit stops as soon as its size is known and shows Too large: 10 GB on the free trial and free accounts, 250 GB with a pass. With a pass, add it again. Over 250 GB, it can't be fetched.

Unavailable

A torrent removed after a valid abuse report shows as Unavailable: its files are deleted, its links stop working and nobody can add it again. See Abuse & DMCA.
