JDownloader, IDM, aria2 and other download managers

Links support resume and several connections per file. How to add them, and how to stay within your connection limit.

Direct links are plain HTTPS: download managers can resume them and split a file across up to 16 connections, which count as one. Keep the number of files downloading at once within your limit: 4 with a pass (2 per IP on the free trial).

To hand over a whole torrent, use Copy all links or Export .txt on its page.

JDownloader

  1. Copy the links: JDownloader picks them up from the clipboard. You can also use Add New Links and paste them.
  2. Start the downloads from the LinkGrabber tab.
  3. In Settings › General, keep Max. simultaneous downloads at 4 or less and Max. chunks per download at 16 or less.

Internet Download Manager (IDM)

  1. Use Add URL for one link, or Tasks › Import › From text file for the .txt export.
  2. In Downloads › Options › Connection, set Default max. conn. number to 16 or less, and keep 4 files or fewer downloading at once.

aria2

One file over 16 connections, resumable:

aria2c -c -x 16 -s 16 "LINK"

A whole torrent from the .txt export, 4 files at a time:

aria2c -c -j 4 -x 16 -s 16 -i links.txt

curl and wget

Both resume an interrupted download: curl -C - and wget -c.

A link expired mid-download

Get fresh links from the torrent's page. With aria2, curl or wget, run the same command with the new link: the download picks up where it stopped.
