JDownloader, IDM, aria2 and other download managers

Links support resume and several connections per file. How to add them, and how to stay within your connection limit.

Direct links are plain HTTPS: download managers can resume them and split a file across several connections. Keep the total within your limit, 4 connections with a pass (2 per IP on the free trial): files downloading at once × connections per file.

To hand over a whole torrent, use Copy all links or Export .txt on its page.

JDownloader

  1. Copy the links: JDownloader picks them up from the clipboard. You can also use Add New Links and paste them.
  2. Start the downloads from the LinkGrabber tab.
  3. In Settings › General, keep Max. simultaneous downloads × Max. chunks per download at 4 or less, for example 2 × 2.

Internet Download Manager (IDM)

  1. Use Add URL for one link, or Tasks › Import › From text file for the .txt export.
  2. In Downloads › Options › Connection, set Default max. conn. number to 4 or less, and download one file at a time.

aria2

One file over 4 connections, resumable:

aria2c -c -x 4 -s 4 "LINK"

A whole torrent from the .txt export, one file at a time:

aria2c -c -j 1 -x 4 -s 4 -i links.txt

curl and wget

Both resume an interrupted download: curl -C - and wget -c.

A link expired mid-download

Get fresh links from the torrent's page. With aria2, curl or wget, run the same command with the new link: the download picks up where it stopped.
